Earlier this week my cousin showed me a picture of an exotic (a Ferrari 360) that she found on the street. She said it wasn’t a lamborghini because the tail lights weren’t square. That made me wonder if most ferraris have circular tail lights.
For reference
Ferrari 360
Ferrari F12
Ferrari 575
Ferrari Enzo
Ferrari Daytona

I guess there was a period in the 80s where it was hip to be square

Most, yes. All, nope. I took this picture at my last C&C because it looks so much like a Camaro or something if you kind of squint.

Most, but not all.
Testarossa:
348:
456:
250 Pininfarina:
250 California:
Mythos concept:
330GT:
275GTS:
And so on. There are more, I’m sure, but these all came quickly to mind.

Some (like me) could argue that the 456’s are indeed circular.

In their illumination yes, but I think those are circular in the same sense that BMW headlights are still “circular.”
